How to Process Your Story in the Movie Machine

Learn how to process your story in Creatorwood’s Movie Machine step by step. This lesson walks you through setting up your project, choosing a visual style, uploading your story file, and letting the AI analyze your full narrative to estimate processing costs. You’ll see how the Movie Machine breaks your story into characters, settings, and a full storyboard automatically—saving you hours of manual work. Once your story is uploaded, sit back and watch it transform into the foundation of your film.

Below is the transcript of the session. Please note that the transcription was done by AI so some inconsistencies may occur.

Okay, now we're gonna learn how to process your story on crater wood. It's really simple. First, you're gonna go to crater wood TV slash movie dash machine. This is where you'll find the movie machine. You can also just navigate right to crater wood tv, sign in, and then click Move a machine in the top bar right here.

Once you're here, you're probably not gonna have as many projects as we do on the Greatwood team, but you're gonna click this button to create a new project. Once you click a button, it's gonna open up the project setup page. You can enter the title here. I'll enter the title of my story. This is the story we've been using to test since the beginning, so it's fun that I'm also showing it to y'all during the course.

Then you can select any style you want for the story. There's 3D animation, cyberpunk stop motion watercolor. Comic book Claymation. Tons of fun ones. I'm gonna just go with photorealistic. That's what most of our people choose. And you can see the sample image right here. It's actually taking a little bit to load on my screen right now 'cause my wifi is slow.

But normally there'd be the photorealistic example image right there now. What I'm gonna do here, now we can see the sample image. There we go, is upload my story file. Now I'm just gonna upload a PDF and once I upload it, it takes a little bit to actually load in. Our AI is going to analyze your story to generate your film, which is really fun.

Now what we're gonna do here once it finishes uploading is click Create Project. When you click Create Project, we don't charge you anything yet instead. REI analyzes your story to give you an estimate of what your processing costs will be. So I'm gonna click Create Project. You'll see here it has this note it.

It lets you know that REI analyzes the whole narrative arc to understand characters, plot, aggression, cinematic scenes and more. So it's actually important that you upload a full story rather than one chapter. 'cause we need the full story arc to really adapt your story correctly to film. And you can again upload a script here.

A first draft manuscript, a book, a short story, any story you'd like. So I'm gonna understand and continue, and I'll take a few minutes to read through the story. And again, we're not processing anything here. We're actually just giving you a quick read through to understand, okay, how much is this gonna cost to process?

When you actually pay the coins to process your story, that's when you're going to have all your characters made, all your objects, all your settings, and. This is the really fun part. You're also going to have your entire storyboard made, shot by shot, planned out for your film. So it's reading through our story right now and I'll pick it back up when we're done reading through it.

Probably just take another couple seconds here and you'll be able to see exactly how much it's going cost for us to process it. Okay, so now we can see here that we can process this story. Moving machine always lets you know what's working well in your story. So it mentions that there's a political drama swirling around Danielle, the main character, and it's high emotional stakes.

Now the storyboard and character processing will cost 220 coins. This is equivalent to $22 'cause each coin is essentially. 10 cents. So 10 coins is $1. You can see a breakdown of how we calculate pricing here since this is a pros. Every 1000 words is $1. So now we're gonna start processing this, and this is where it gets really fun.

It creates the project, it prepares the processor story, and then we could see each step in the movie machine. As it starts to progress and there's really nothing for you to do on this page, you can navigate away from this page. Actually, it won't stop the processing. You can exit out. We'll email you later when your story's done processing, so you don't have to worry about staying here and waiting till it's done.

Depending on the length of your story, processing time will vary. Shorter stories may only take, five to 10 minutes, whereas like a novel or something novel length could take 30 minutes to an hour. So sit back. Enjoy the process and you'll start to see your story come to life quickly. And you can see here your story processing, the processing steps are fun to read through.

It's basically how AI breaks down your story and actually transforms it into. A screenplay and then eventually a storyboard and all your characters settings and more. Now at the bottom here, we sometimes put some Easter eggs with some free deals and discounts and other upgrades you can get while you're making your movie using the movie machine.

So on this processing page, it's sometimes pays to stick around and scroll to the bottom and see what's up. That's my little hint to y'all. Okay, with all that said, let's move on to module one, recap and then dive into module two, all about the director's notes.
